AB Future Team workshops were established to equip the girls with valuable resources to help them grow into responsible young adults.  The workshops began 2/14/09 and are facilitated by F.I.E.R.C.E., LLC (Freedom is Empowered Right Choices through Education).  F.I.E.R.C.E., LLC purpose is to embrace the idea that education fosters freedom and freedom opens the door to more options, coupled with the ability to make right choices.  Their mission is to educate and empower young ladies to live a life of true freedom through providing workshops, seminars, group mentoring and modeling a lifestyle that exudes the F.I.E.R.C.E. mindset.  Kyana Bradley and  Melissia Higgs work together to speak to the girls on a variety of topics using exciting, creative & relevant learning techniques.

The girls have participated in three workshops to date and are preparing for three more.  

Workshop # 1 – Personal Hygiene – The girls learned about the importance of taking care of their bodies as well as reaching out to help others do the same.  In this workshop they covered areas such as the menstrual cycles, body odor, shaving, & hair care.

Workshop # 2 - Values/Self-Esteem – “Know You, Do You, Be You”

Workshop # 3 – Abstinence – Understanding the physical steps of intimacy, sexual refusal skills and the physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, social and financial consequences of sexual activity.

 Upcoming topics: STDs, Breast Cancer, & Homosexuality

 We as a team are so grateful to F.I.E.R.C.E., LLC and look forward to participating in more workshops and witnessing the fruit the girls will reap in the FUTURE.
